WHY I DON'T LIKE FELA DUROTOYE

Dear Friend,

Years ago my head hurts, my feet stinks from the sweat from it and I don't like Fela Durotoye.


I don't want to be here at my desk writing this letter. I want to be on my
boat. Poverty sucks. I hate to have empty pocket. Anybody who says they like empty pocket is a degenerate liar or a social leper. Let's face it:

What kind of people would like poverty so much and face each day with high hope... or... romancing his honey without finance... or... going to a
movie... or... playing golf... or... reading what somebody else has written to make money... I like writing but I don't get paid for my writing.

I like speaking but I don't paid for speaking rather I get stoned when I open my mouth...Well... that was then... not anymore.

Or anything!

Anything but speaking and writing. But alas, judging from the calls on my
electronic mailbox, the numero uno subject my readers want me to write about is writing and helping them with their businesses.

So I am. Now, the first thing I want you to know about making money (other than how much it sucks) is the best way to get good at what you do is...

By understanding how to do you what you do for a profit.

I know that sounds like double-talk but, it isn't. The biggest secret to
Fela Durotoye is simply Strategy. Just the act of Clarity. For the moment, forget about getting it perfect, forget about grammar, forget about syntax, punctuation, you need strategy to succeed. That was what I did not have when I and My partner Tade Esan were struggling. We were getting poorer by the day, we needed to cure our empty pocket... How we wished we had discovered this truth earlier.

There is no substitute for strategy. The man is a fool laboring hard without strategy. Just sit down and add some strategy to what you do.

Our RARE Mentor, a man who created more than 105 businesses before he died often said, "Strategy is what kills fear.Strategy is what breeds
confidence." Several years ago, when I and my business partner started our first company, Potsherd Human Development Company, we had everything going for us except strategy. Soon the business went under.

But Fela Durotoye became one of leading strategist in the country. He started in a lowly state having learnt in the most hardest and difficult ways.In fact, I became literally addicted to reading Fela's at a time that I did not like him. I always felt I could do presentation but Fela was better at making the money. I could speak. write and work harder than Fela could. Who is better, the best speaker or the best-selling speaker? (I guess you could also do better than Fela, but what happened?)

You see why they say, "talent is not enough, you need strategy." It is the strategy that you are going to be learning on the 23rd day of september,INSIDE THE PROFITS ROOM at Triangle Restaurant, Ijeshatedo, Surulere, Lagos. 9:30am.

Anyway, when Fela was getting started, he read somewhere what the
average business owner did not know, he hit his stride and took off. Today Fela is a household name that if you are selling something, you will need Fela to make it sell. So why should I like him. I in fact should hate him.

But you see,whether I like him or not, Fela is making the money I ma not making. So I better forged myself with him if I want to make as much as he does.

Just Start building your business with the right strategy.

OK, enough of that.

So, let's get specific. According To RARE mentor, 'to sell somebody
something, you've got to do four things. (1) You've got to catch their
attention. (2) You've got to capture their interest. (3) You've got to
arouse their desire. (Sounds dirty, doesn't it?) and, (4) You've got to
motivate them to action.' This, as many of you know, you got to understand
MARKETING. That is what a strategy entails.
